Progression basics
Blacksmith belongs to the Crafting side of FFXIV progression. Treat it as an account-wide economy and utility track, not as a replacement for MSQ combat progress.
- Gatherers feed crafting, collectables, scrips, and market-board supply.
- Crafters turn materials into gear, consumables, housing items, and profit routes.
- Leveling is smoother when travel, retainers, and market access are already unlocked.
