Before queueing
The Clyteum is a Patch 7.5 Dawntrail dungeon. Local wiki data lists it as a level 100, item level 750, 4-player duty tied to the MSQ quest Two Worlds Entwined, with an entrance in Garlemald at 32.1, 16.4, -0.2.
- Repair gear and check that your average item level is at least 750.
- Expect standard dungeon pacing: wall pulls where the tank and healer are comfortable, then three boss encounters.
- If it is your first run, Duty Support is available and keeps the story pace calm.
Duty Support options
The local dungeon page lists Thancred as Gunbreaker, G'raha Tia as all-rounder, Alphinaud as Sage, Urianger as Astrologian, and Alisaie as Red Mage. Use Duty Support if you want to learn telegraphs without party pressure.
- For a DPS player, Duty Support will cover tank and healer responsibilities.
- For a tank or healer player, Duty Support gives room to practice pulls without rushing.
- Real-player roulettes will usually clear faster, but Duty Support is better for reading the arena.
Trash and pacing
The dungeon is framed around voidsent pressure inside an old Garlean manufactory. Trash pulls are not the main difficulty, but they can punish sloppy cooldown use if the tank overpulls before the healer is ready.
- Tanks: use mitigation before the first big hit, not after your HP is already low.
- Healers: keep movement tools ready for late telegraphs during boss fights; trash is mostly resource management.
- DPS: prioritize AoE on packs and save burst for bosses unless a pull is clearly dangerous.
Eye of the Scorpion
This first boss teaches the dungeon's core rule: watch cast bars, movement restrictions, and arena compression. Eyes on Me is party-wide damage and the first cast changes the arena shape. Petrifying Beam resolves from the boss's facing and can petrify players hit by the cone. Motion Scanner punishes movement or attacking while affected.
- When Petrifying Beam starts, identify the cone direction and leave it before it locks.
- During Motion Scanner, stop moving and stop attacking while the scan condition is active.
- Handle stack and spread markers normally: stack together for Penetrator Missile, separate for Anti-personnel Missile.
Chort
Chort combines arena compression, late line telegraphs, knockback, towers, spread markers, and healer stacks. Mortifying Flesh is the signature movement check: the boss spins, rolls, and follows with Bodyweight Exorcism. Knockback immunity can help if timed correctly.
- Respect late telegraphs. Do not greed casts in front of the rolling boss.
- For Bodyweight Exorcism tower sequences, resolve towers in order instead of panicking across the arena.
- Separate for Evil Emission, then regroup when Profane Pressure marks the healer stack.
Masterful Manipulator: Malphas
Malphas is the final check and centers on scrap adds, Puppet Strings, and delayed AoE patterns. The important read is which add the boss is controlling and what shape that add will produce. String Up asks players to keep moving when the cast resolves.
- For Scrap Meddle, look at add size and facing before Puppet Strings resolves.
- Small adds use point-blank danger; large adds use conal danger from their facing.
- During String Up, keep moving as the cast completes or you risk being incapacitated.
- Shadow Play is the tankbuster; tanks should mitigate and avoid clipping the party.
Loot and cleanup
The local page lists Mapping the Realm: The Clyteum as the exploration achievement and identifies the music used in the duty. After your first clear, return only if you need roulette credit, glamour, mapping cleanup, or story screenshots in explorer mode.
- Explorer mode is listed locally, so use it later for screenshots without rushing a live party.
- If you are catching up for Patch 7.5, continue the MSQ into the trial unlock path after the dungeon.
- For a blind first run, read only the boss headings and marker notes, then come back after the clear.
